Upper + Lower Lower Eye Lift w/ Crows Feet: Your 10-Day Aftercare

The #1 rule after an Upper + Lower Eye Lift w/ Crows Feet is simple: don’t rub, pick, or “help” the area heal. Keep it clean, use the aftercare products we send you home with (one client loved that their plasma pen service “came with after care products”), and protect those tiny carbon dots so they can flake off naturally. That’s how you keep downtime tight and protect the result.
0 to 48 Hours: cool compresses, clean hands, and zero makeup
Right after your eye bag lift, your skin is doing real repair work. For the first 48 to 72 hours, we generally recommend cool compresses (short sessions, several times a day) and a light layer of the clinic-recommended ointment to keep the area comfortable and protected.
Quick non-negotiables: clean hands only, no rubbing, no picking, no lashes or eye makeup, and avoid getting water directly on the treated skin.
What “normal” can feel like
Mild warmth the first evening can happen. One of our plasma fibroblast clients described their skin feeling “slightly warm that evening, ” and that matched what we prepared them for. You can also see swelling and tightness around the eyes. That’s common in this window, especially when you’re up and moving around.
Protect your result in Martinez sun
Martinez has that Mediterranean climate that makes it easy to forget how strong UV is, especially in summer. Even with the morning marine layer near the waterfront, UV can still hit hard. Keep the area shaded and avoid direct sun while you’re healing.
Days 3 to 7: scabs, flaking, and the fastest way to mess it up
This is the week where people get tempted. Don’t. Those little scabs and carbon dots need to do their job and fall off on their own. Picking is the fastest way to trade a smoother under-eye for irritation, delayed healing, or a mark you didn’t have before.
A lot of our clients are surprised by how quickly they turn the corner. One plasma pen client told us their scabs came off at about day 6. Another person doing a lift-style treatment described about one week of downtime, with the “real down time” closer to three days due to minor discomfort.
Avoid for 7 to 14 days: heavy exercise, sauna, steam rooms, and swimming. Sweat and soaking don’t mix with healing skin.
Waterfront walks and errands are fine, but plan around heat
If you’re walking Main Street in downtown Martinez, keep it mellow and shaded. Skip midday sun, skip hot yoga, and don’t schedule yourself for anything that turns your face into a space heater. Clients coming in from Pleasant Hill, Concord, Pacheco, Benicia, Port Costa, and Walnut Creek often pick this service because they want low-downtime recovery. These simple choices keep it that way.
Weeks 2 to 4: the “quiet phase” where collagen does the heavy lifting
After the dots flake off, your skin can look smoother, then a little dry, then better again. That’s normal. This is also where patience pays you back. One client put it perfectly: they saw early improvement and were excited for the “real magic” in 2 to 3 months as collagen kicks in. Eye area tightening often keeps developing in the background.
Sun rules get stricter, not looser
Until the skin is fully healed, avoid tanning beds and high UV exposure. Once healed, use physical protection first (sunglasses, a hat) and SPF as part of your daily routine. In Martinez summer sunlight, protection is what keeps your result looking clean, not “worked on.”
Aftercare products and habits that keep your eye lift looking smooth
If you’re a product person, this is where you can help, without overdoing it. Keep it boring and supportive until you’re healed. We’ll point you to what we want on your skin right now, and what can wait.
- Use the aftercare products we send home with you, exactly as directed.
- Stick to gentle cleansing. No scrubs, no exfoliating acids, and no retinoids on the treated area until we say you’re ready.
- Hydration helps comfort and appearance. A recent client raved about pairing their Plasmapen results with our Hyaluronic Serum & Cleanser because it kept their skin “hydrated, refreshed, and glowing.”
- Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first few nights if you tend to swell. It’s a small thing, but it usually helps.
When to reach out to our downtown Martinez clinic (and when it can wait)
We’re easy to reach, and we take aftercare seriously. People tell us they appreciate how clearly we explain things and how supported they feel. Our studio is in downtown Martinez’s Main Street historic district near the waterfront and county courthouse, so quick check-ins are simple if you’re already in the area.
Call us promptly if you notice increasing pain, a fever, spreading redness, or green/yellow drainage (pus). Those aren’t “normal healing” signs, and we want to guide you quickly.
If you’re unsure, reach out anyway. A lot of problems are simple when we catch them early. And if you’re commuting in from Walnut Creek or Concord and want to stay presentable for work or an event, we’ll help you plan your healing so you’re not guessing in the mirror.
